Water Quality for Healthy Beaches & Seafood
Bookmark | Share | Print
Water sustains life, and its condition in the Gulf of Mexico affects the health of both human and natural communities in the region. The quality of water in the Gulf of Mexico also directly affects the economies of the five Gulf States. Clean, healthy water breeds productive natural resources and thriving ecosystems. The Gulf ofMexico Alliance is focusing on four
water quality priorities to ensure healthy beaches and safe seafood in coastal areas: Pathogens, Harmful Algal Blooms, Mercury in Seafood, and Monitoring.
Gulf of Mexico Coastal Training Water Quality for Healthy Beaches and Seafood workshops address this priority issue.
